Botho University now has an international campus in Namibia which operates from Ausspannplatz, in Windhoek. BU Namibia currently offers five qualifications. The portfolio of programmes will be increased as the university grows and strengthens its presence in the country, offering qualifications that are driven by the market demand and the needs of the country. The programmes currently offered are in the key fields of Accounting, Business, Computing and Health.

BU is a strong regional higher education provider headquartered in Botswana, with growing campuses in Lesotho abd Eswatini in addition to Namibia. The university and its programmes are accredited by the respective regulatory authorities, namely: Botswana Qualifications Authority (BQA) in Botswana, Council on Higher Education (CHE) in Lesotho, Eswatini Higher Education Council (SHEC), the Namibia Qualifications Authority.

Overall, Botho University offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in key disciplines that are critical to the development of SADC and other African economies. These include Accounting, Business, Computing, Education, Engineering, Hospitality, Health and Jewellery Management and Design. Student centric approaches to teaching and learning at Botho aim to unlock the potential of young African scholars so that they become equipped with entrepreneurial skills in these key disciplines. The university’s academic history and success has been predicated on sound professional and administrative principles formulated, espoused, and deeply held by its Board of Directors and Management; based on the well-established and clearly articulated socio-economic needs and political agenda of the people of Africa.

Botho University Namibia sees itself as an important player in the realization of Namibia’s Vision 2030, which is about improving the quality of life for all Namibians. The Board has established through extensive research that Namibia’s socio-economic development agenda and programmes are based on Vision 2030, which is striving for “A prosperous and industrialized Namibia, developed by her human resources, enjoying peace, harmony and political stability.” One of the objectives of the Vision 2030 is to “develop a diversified, competent and highly productive human resources and institutions, fully utilizing human potential, and achieving efficient and effective delivery of customer-focused services which are competitive not only nationally, but also regionally and internationally. Botho University, Namibia was duly registered by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) on 29th August 2018 (Registration number R 0016) and duly accredited by Namibia Qualifications Authorities.

Through this, the institution re-emphasizes its strong adherence to compliance and regulatory requirements. Botho University, the parent organization is fully compliant with the regulatory requirements of Botswana Namibia, Eswatini and Lesotho where the University has campuses. Botho University intends to grow continuously towards its Vision and Mission as outlined in its Sustainable Growth Strategy of 2018 to 2022. The key tenets of the strategy of the institution are based on being an integral player in building an economically diversified, fast growing, and prosperous Namibia through integrity, excellence, inclusiveness and financial viability. It is intended that through programmes on offer, BU Namibia will leverage on these commitments to contribute to human resource development for the growth of the Namibian economy and grow as an institution.

Besides the various bachelor’s  degrees and certificate qualifications, BU Namibia also offers various corporate training programmes as an international campus of Botho University, Botswana which has been involved in corporate training since 1997. As an international campus we will be able to impart the excellence in providing the corporate trainings to companies and individuals, helping them develop crucial competencies and empowering employees at all levels to become more competitive. We develop professional development programmes designed to measurably improve productivity, performance, and profitability. The institution will continuously invest in excellent infrastructure and the latest technology driven learning resources. Botho University also has several partnerships with well-known regional and international institutions such as the University of Venda, RSA, the KTH Royal Institute of Technology – Sweden, Black Hills State University – USA, University of Louisville – USA, Indian School of Mines – India, Manipal University – India and World Tourism Forum Lucerne – Switzerland. Through these partnerships, students get great opportunities to take part in student exchange programmes, thus giving them incredible international exposure. Operating Principles

Botho operates on four major principles that form the basis of the institution’s business model:

  • Integrity: Botho will uphold the highest standards of professional ethics and will be fully compliant with legal requirements in its operational jurisdictions. The institution has a zero-tolerance policy for any corrupt practices intended to gain any illicit advantage in its operations.
  • Excellence: Botho aims to perform any activity that it embarks on to the best of its ability and expects the same of its staff and students. Excellence is not about achieving unsustainable perfection, but rather about having a focus on effectiveness and efficiency. The principle of excellence drives the institution’s desire for continuous improvement of all processes, products and services through robust quality management systems and innovation.
  • Inclusiveness: The growth of Botho should bring value to its shareholders who have taken risk and invested in the organization, its staff who have committed their time and energy to growing the organization, its students who have placed their trust in the institution for their development, its alumni who are continually associated with the institution, the industry which depends on the institution for its knowledge and human capital input, and the greater community who are linked to the institution through direct or indirect interaction or by virtue of proximity.   • Financial viability: Botho, through its assets and operations will generate adequate income to cover expenses, make any liability payments and fund future developments. Financial viability is essential for the institution to be able to operate in the long-term and achieve its objectives.
